The strange thing was that 15 minutes after I discovered the recall on my own, my dealer called me to "notify me of the recall". Either this is the strangest coincidence of all time or Lexus is doing "silent recalls" waiting for customers to discover the recall before acting on it.

Behavior I'd expect from Kia not Lexus.

Recall was done and the car is fine (well, if a car with a bad exhaust/y-pipe can be fine) - no meaningful change in mpg.
You should have received two notices in the mail...a while ago...

It's strange that you had to enter your vin...when I log into the owner portal the recall info was there under that car...

It took about 4 hours including a full inspection and road test. I did get a full tank of fuel but they gave me an ES 350 to drive...looked and felt cheap inside...unimpressed...had it overnight and couldn't wait to get my GS back...

Props to lexus for fast response to safety related issues such as this.

Other manufacturers will not take the additional precautions as lexus and Toyota does.

We had a horrible experience with a new chrysler 300. rather than be proactive, they will argue with u as to why their cars are totally safe when a death had already occurred to other consumers.

Being part of the lexus culture has a lot of value in many ways. Its worth it, whether your a new or used lexus owner, they treat u the same way.

Just had my recall done last weekend. Unfortunately, I had just filled the tank the day before, so when I got it back, the guy was like "we went ahead and filled her up for you!" And all I did was look at him like....

They don't give you any gas at all. I went in with a little lower then 1/4 tank got nothing. even mentioned about the gas fillup and they said no way.

I received the initial notice quite awhile back, however have seen or heard nothing since except on this forum. Is it correct to assume actual recall notifications are now being sent?
Thanks.

just got mine back from having it done. They topped off my gas (about 1/2 tank), put me in a new ES350 loaner for a few hours and offered a wash, which I declined since it's clean and I didn't want to risk more people involved, lol.
