Mpg?
What's your MPG average on your GS? Please share.
On the paper stating 19 city - 26 hway so the average should be between but my average mpg so far below 17mpg most of the time. Any thoughts?

Model? 300, 350, 430, 460? I don't recall the MPG of the top of my head for each of these but I average around 21...but it depends on how and where you do most of your driving...in all city I've been at 17 too.

With my '09 350 I see an average of 15-16 mpg in city with lots of short tips and hills. Long highway trips are 26-28 mpg. I always run premium fuel but have heard that mileage is worse with mid-grade.

Is there a way to improve it?

something's not right. are you lead foot?
How are you testing? Is the highway flat? how far did you drive?
It's hard to believe you're getting 17 in the city, and 18 hwy. There should be a big difference between city and hwy.
What is your engine rpm on the hwy?

The highway is flat, my foot on the gas pedal was consistent and stable. Drive for about 25 minutes. Didn't pay attention to the rpm thou. Just had another 25 minutes highway drive and it came up to 19.2 now.
I'm not sure why and how it's calculated thou. By the way, I just picked up my GS for only 2 days from the dealership.
I'm not sure

That's actually my concern since I expected the mpg stays somewhere 19-26 combined.

I usually leave the MPG meter on the cluster to get an idea on how much pressure I'm applying to the gas pedal. In city driving I get anywhere from 16-19mpg, and on the highway I've seen an average of 24-26mpg -- sometimes as high as 29-30.

you need to test it with cruise control. Cruise control usually sips gas better than you do on flat road.
On flat road with cruise, the instantaneous mpg meter should show ~25-30
