After studying this, I got lost on the de-pinned wires (black and red), I understand you're splicing the black one with the long green one that you have, what about the red one? Are you splicing the red to the purple?

Around step 6 and 7, do I take these "modded" wires and splice them with the orange and yellow? Lol, holy shat I wanna do this but I think it's wayyyyy better to do a DIY YouTube vid versus guessing from the pix and cutting/soldering the wrong wires. Haha.

Yes, you have it exactly right. Sorry if that's unclear, splice red to purple from the connector. plug the green into the open slot, then splice into orange and yellow

I know this is a super old thread, but anyone know if this process would work in the opposite order? Swapping a GS steering wheel to an IS and removing the paddleshifters? I would love to have the wood instead of an all leather steering wheel.

Default Cruise control plug

I've just got a flappy paddle wheel to fit in my gs300. I was just checking the wiring to make sure it all matches before going ahead with the swap and noticed where you add the red wire into the cruise control plug I already have a wire there. Any idea what the wire is for and if it will still work? Do I need to swap that plug out for a different one or? Any advice would be very helpful. Ive attached a picture of the plug.
