Are these typical problems in GS's or just mine? Headlight condensation/door actuator
Hello everybody! I am new to CL but it makes sense to finally become a member since I have never had any other car but a Lexus. I currently own an 07 Gs350 AWD, which I bought new. One problem has always been the driver side door locking actuator. It has ***** the bed probably 3 times total and the rear ones have also been replaced all under warranty. Unfortunately they are no longer covered .
Another problem that just recently happened which is even more annoying than the door, is the condensation build up in my passenger headlight! the light is condensing so much in this humidity that sometimes I cant even see through the plastic.
It really sucks because I cant find another headlight on ebay to replace this one thats not a million dollars and the used ones always have broken tabs or are missing parts. still around $350-$400!
Has anybody had these problems? It would also be really cool if someone could point me in the right direction and educate me on lexus headlights.
Thanks!

First off, welcome to the forum. You posted in the wrong forum but I'll fix it for you .
Next time post in the 3gs subforum, not their build thread lol.
EDIT: Forgot to mention.... The headlights on our cars are known to have that condensation problem. You can reseal it to prevent further condensation....
Also, 3GS headlights are not cheap because they are auto-leveling/auto-balancing headlights. There's moving parts in there combined with a ballast for an HID system, so the cost is "somewhat" justified .
GL on your ventures! Definitely check out the 3GS stickies for a lot of our DIY mods and threads.

if you have a big enough oven, take it apart, clean it, reseal with BUTYL. not silicone.
You don't have to spend $400
All headlights have some condensation, but it's not supposed to be excessive.
I have had some, and you can see water marks on the inside.

Well I unfortunately I encountered the condensation in the headlight. I ended up calling lexus customer service and they thankfully ended up goodwilling the bad headlamp! So you can try that or finding a used one.

Thanks for all the helpful responses.
I thought about trying the headlight in the oven trick until I saw how hard they are to take them out. You have to pull the bumper and a whole bunch of other stuff and that looks a little advanced for me as I have no mechanic experience even though I am very handy. Even if I wanted to do it though I can't find a video on YouTube or anywhere else of someone actually pulling the entire light on the GS. If I found a good one I probably would just go for it.
jdmek... That's awesome! Was your car in or out of Warrenty when they replaced the headlight for you. I doubt they would do mine because I am way past the miles/ year Warrenty.
Thanks all!

The car was wayy out of warranty but since I take my car to the dealer for all the services my SA spoke to them about being a good customer so they approved it or something like that. It was last year and my car is a 07.
Well good luck on it.
