Unhappy 2006 GS300 VSC Indicator light

Hello! I've just recently purchased a used GS300 and my VSC indicator light just came on 2 days ago. Anyone know if it is due to poor brakes or...? I'm pretty clueless as to what it could be. Any help or ideas? Thanks!!!

Does the check engine light follow and etc? may be a old gas cap that needs replacing (use gas cap from your dealer).

more than likely the gas cap. either not clicked enough or the O-ring is bad on the cap

Or it could be the beginnings of the dreaded carbon-buildup-piston-ring-failure the GS 300 engine is famous for.
That is a $6400.00 problem. The gas cap is a $6.40 problem. It is funny how the same warning light could indicate 2 different problems whose solutions have such different locations of their decimal points.

Sorry for the awfully late reply guys. When i brought it into Lexus, they changed the gas cap and the indicator went off but it was only temporary. The light popped back on and off after... I might have to cough up the $6400.00 to fix it after all or... say bye bye cause that's way too much!

Have the codes read from a local auto store and post it up. Or you could have the dealership do a diagnostic and see what the problem is. Has your car been idling roughly?

So the "Piston-Ring-Failure" Costs $6,400.00?

Wouldn't it be better at that point to just rebuild the whole engine?
