Default Anyone successfully converted AWD to RWD

Hi,
As the title states, has anyone successfully converted an awd to rwd? Is it even possible? If anyone have done it or heard someone doing it please let me know. I have a friend that wants to do it, ( selling awd and buying rwd is not an option for him) shops told him that the car might not drive if they remove front differential or parking brake in the transmission won't engage.

I can't imagine a less worthwhile mechanical operation. For the cost of it, why not just sell the awd GS buy a rwd GS? It's possible you might even make a few bucks, awd still commands a small premium.

You'd probably need front axles change, rwd version drive shaft and maybe the transmission. Simply not worth the time and money! AWD is more valuable than RWD in the sates where it snows.

NO.... NO NO NO NO NO. And why? Awd doesn't mean all wheels all the time, it is basically rwd most of the time unless your driving with the awd button on all the time, and even then I believe the computer takes it out of awd when not needed

AWD button on? we don't have locking 4wd system. If i remember correctly it is 40/60 power distribution.

Sorry.... it was a long day, I meant the snow button. I was also wrong about it being rwd, it is awd all the time, with a variable power distribution of 20/80 to 50/50.... but even so, no... just.... no
