What size tire to run on a 20x10.5 up front?
Hi Guys,
When I had my 20x10 wheels on my 3GS I was running 235/35 up front, but was scrapping on full turns. Im wondering what are a good tire spec to run up front to try to avoid the scrapping. Should i be okay to run a 245/35 or a 245/30 up front? Or maybe a 235/30, or is this to much stretch on a 20x10.5? I like a little meat on my tire and not so super low profile.... I know our 3gs do come with an options of 18s that come in a 245/40 and is no problem but obviously not lowered. Any input would help. I got some really nice wheels i want to purchase for next year due to summer is already over =/

Yes I am, im going with a square setup.. the 20x9 is to much of a flat face for me. Im probably going to be going with a 20x10.5 +35 all around, but the available offset for the wheels are 15-45.

Hi Ksan, what brand and model wheel are u going with?
Do you anticipate any issues with this setup for the front such as fender modifications? Hopefully, someone can make some suggestions and help with the fitment.

The rim is too wide... No tire combo will fix your dilemma. This is why they run staggered setups. You get the widest rim you can fit on the car, but this is on the rear so you don't mess with a varying turning radius. 20x9 is the widest you can run in the front and still not rub on turns. Due to the big brakes, you will need a 35-40mm offset. Most folks run a 35mm offset up front with 245s to maintain the correct rolling diameter.
