could use better brakes... (near miss accident)
long story short, dash cam video, cruising on 45mph posted speed, black SUV driver (on left turn lane) decided to drive toward the right lane to make a right turn without looking.
i slammed my brakes with all my foot muscle, i could felt the ABS kicking in (thank god it did i might lose control if it locks up)
anyhow, thinking of upgrading the brake pad again, currently i have the dealer installed low dust low noise brake pad and the braking performance is so-so..

Glad nothing happened. freaked the pedestrian on the right out for sure though lol.
as for brakes you can go slotted, drilled, or even both. or even a nice big upgrade to a 6 pot caliper. but that cost a lot. i would just change the rotors but you would loose the low dust perk. you can use stock pads and imo they are just fine.

i just don't see a way out of this if i really can't stop the car, i can't go around him because i was hoping when i am honking at him he would see me and go back to the left lane, but nope he decide to block my center lane and proceed to the right lane like nothing happen, i could crash on to the sidewalk kill that pedestrian and ruin my car but then the black SUV can just drive away like nothing happen.
either way, pretty screw here

i could felt it, yes, i do personally think the tires gotta go, the traction control working really busy whenever i step on the gas from the dead stop, i got decent amount of tread, but it just isn't working as its suppose to

I'd be replacing the tires before looking at changing brake setups. Drilled and slotted brakes are not going to do anything other than increase pad wear, increase brake dust, and, in the case of the drilled ones, increase cracking.
If you're still having issues with tires, you can go with a more aggressive pad. But you'll also deal with increased dust.

Is stated above, the brakes did their job. Get performance tires or a wider wheel/tire combo which will actually allow your brakes to work to their fullest potential. Then worry about brake upgrades.

whew that was a close call... I can't say how many times these brakes saved my life since i drive in the city! I'm honestly suprised that they come with 4 pot calipers and only 1 pot for the rears... would anyone know the size of rims to get for 245's? I think the mid refresh get 245's instead.

I have noticed the low dust pads don't stop as hard as the old pads. But I guess there has to be a trade off somewhere. I am about to install stoptech brake lines for front and rear. I will post if that makes a difference in braking power. (It should considering I have the original brake lines with 125,000 miles)
