Someone gave me an elm327 and I think its a ecu reader that transmits via bluetooth to an app to give you ecu codes?

it should work fine, works on my 2gs 430. i use the torque app.

Thanks. Got the app loaded and connected to my ECU. Do you leave that plugged in to your car at all times or just when diagnosing stuff?
I clicked on the gear and then fault codes but it never was able to get any fault codes, or previous codes?
