Ok, I've put together my best guess. If you have time, take a look and let me know whether my guesses were correct and also how to identify the items at the bottom.
Should I assume that any with the headlight and water button have "Rain-sensing intermittent windshield wipers with mist cycle, headlamp washers and Adaptive"?

First off let me say thanks for starting this. It gave this Lexus n00b a great deal of information.
Now a correction.
This is not completely true. I have those squares in the bumper on my car; it has parking assist but it does not have DRCC.
Presence of the DRCC option is indicated by an additional lever on the steering wheel. See attached excerpt from the owner's manual.

Park assist uses ultrasonic sound waves (basically sonar) to detect objects all around the car. The squares in the bumpers are the ultrasonic sensors/emitters. The range of these sensors is very short (4 or 5 feet I think). Park assist was available for all 3GS models.
DRCC uses radar (millimeter wavelength electromagnetic radiation) to detect the position and relative velocity of things in front of your car. A radar sensor/emitter (I think it's behind the grill) generates a narrow beam of radio waves, and when a car in front of you reflects some of the waves back to the sensor, the reflected waves tell your car how far the other one is and how fast it's moving relative to yours. The radar has a much higher range than sonar. DRCC was only available on the GS460 and 450h.
Not sure if Pre-collision was available on the 3GS, but if so it would use the radar system.

I don't know about 08, but my 09 came with them from the factory. They are included in the options listed on the window sticker.

I had my wife stand in front of the car when I hit the headlight washer button. The shocked look on her face was hysterical. They do indeed work. There is a small door in the chrome of the headlights that pops open and sprays them.

Hi everyone, there is a button in my '08 GS460 (JDM) that is not mentioned in this thread, nor can I figure out what it does... It operates nothing on the dash display signalling anything turning on or off... Has anyone else got this or know what it does? It's on the same pop out cluster of buttons with the mirror adjustment controls. See below.
BTW I have no sensors in my bumper for park assist or radar cruise

Yes, I saw them on EU 3GS switch box pictures on Google and it is still a mystery to me! This switch is blank in 99% of the 3GS's, and I looked for UK owner's manuals to find its function but I couldn't find them. It looks like an alarm, but my car has an alarm and doesn't have this button.
