Potential GS530 owner
CL Team,
I am thinking about purchasing a 2008 GS530 w/134,00 mi for $14K; it's in great condition. Any thoughts or recommendations; I have the carfax it does not show the timing belt being replaced.

Hello,
The GS 350's are pretty reliable. They feature a timing chain and not a belt. There are a few of us that experience oil consumption like the 06's have. Other than that the few problems that arise with them could probably be considered minimal.

The 350's are great cars but I would be careful due to the oil consumption, mine is at 143k and it burns about 1qt every 1k miles.
Maintenance items to perform:
Water pump, Serpentine Belt, Idler Pulley and Tensioner. At 133k, my alternator went out and axles (cv joints) started to need replacing. I would also change all the fluids. Good luck!

Up your budget a little more and you can get one well under 100K miles. You'll kick yourself later for not waiting. Just be patient. Plenty of Gs350 out there
BTW my 2007 with 85K miles burned no oil after a 6 month oil change. Then again I only drove it 2000 miles.
