Is that year a decent quality year for the GS 350?Hopefully some current or previous owners can help.

I picked up an 09' GS350 with 73k back in Jan of 2015. I've put 23k miles on it with no real issues. Now, I immediately changed out the original transmission fluid (great DIY tutorial here, just search for it), the rear diff fluid (again, tutorial is available here), oil (was due yet, but wanted to do it to get familiar). The only issues I've had.....brakes make a bit of creaking noise at cold start in the mornings. Not super noticeable but still hear it. Also, I'm beginning to hear a slight grinding noise coming from brakes (sound like front). I'll probably jump in there and replace pads/rotors if necessary in the next couple weeks.
According to Consumer Reports, the 09' had worse reliability rankings that 08's and 10's...but with zero differences (that I was ever able to find at least mechanically) I attribute that to skewed averages based on very small sample sizes. You can find the actual photo of the CR book page that I posted in a thread on there nearly a year ago. The rankings were fine in the CR's 2014 Book but dropped in the 2015 one. Weird.
As far as "good value"...that would depend on the cars service history, current condition and of course....sales price. NADAGUIDES.COM

i'm in the car business as a vendor to new and used auto dealers...and $690 is a pretty damn steep doc fee.
