Driver side "drop down" instrument panel doesnt work

Driver side "drop down" instrument panel doesnt work
Has anyone had any issues with their instrument panel? I checked the fuse and its still good.
Last time it didnt work, a shady mechanic removed it and in the process, ripped the ribbon off the port. Had my car entirely fixed after that whole mess, the panel worked for a long time until a few months ago when i wanted to readjust my passenger mirror and i recognized the symptom of the panel not working. the lighting of the buttons were not on and the most obvious, none of the buttons worked anymore. Now im interested in fixing this so i can trade in my car for another soon...the afs off light magically came on too two weeks ago and if that button doesnt work then how right? but anyway let me know if you guys ran into this or have some idea of how to fix it

Same problem 2006 gs 430 any luck?
I have the same problem out 1300 bucks and stealership still cant figure it out.
