Why do some Lexus have the Lexus emblem in the rear on the left side and some don't
Currently searching for a GS 350 and i notice that some Lexus have the "Lexus" emblem in the back rear left side and then some do not.I have been kind of weary about the ones that do not because im wondering are they some type of bootleg Lexus although i doubt it.Just figured i could get some clarification from the Lexus' community.

If the car you are looking at doesn't have the nameplate, it was either: removed by previous owner, left off at the factory, or left off after paint work on trunk lid. All GS came with "Lexus" and "GS300/GS350/GS430/GS460" nameplates on trunk.

They only drop "Lexus" for the US Market because of brand recognition. Else where around the world, "Lexus" is still being used.

I believe you are correct it looks like the last year for the emblem was 2010.I don't know why the choice was made it looks better with it in my opinion since they do have the GS 350 (AWD/RWD) on the other side.

Considering that Lexus has been the top-selling luxury car brand in the USA for a full decade, it’s safe to say the Oval-L logo has reached the level of recognition necessary to omit the brand name. It’s a subtle change, to be sure, but it also stands as an notable step in the evolution of the brand in the United States.
So far, this looks to be a change only in the USA (and possibly Canada)
