Default How much should one pay to change Differential Fluid?

What's a reasonable price to change the Differential fluid in a 06Gs430?

The Toyota in Panama City, Fl states it's $270-$490 depending on what they find after they inspect, clean, lube and flush. (sounds like a bunch of BS).

I told them I just wanted it drained and filled not a rebuid!...

I believe the differential holds 1.4 qts.
Plz chime in

I know my dealer charges $99 per diff. I paid an independent $60 for labor and got 3qrts of Valvoline gear oil for $28.the rear is easy to do, but based on seeing the front done, a lift would be very handy because of where the fill bolt is. Just realized you had a 430, since you are only doing the rear, most places shouldn't charge you more than. $100 and you could probably do it on your own. For my 300 it held about 1.5 quarts, might be different than yours

if it's ANYTHING like my 09' 350.....replacing the rear diff fluid is total cake. DIY tutorial on here made it super easy. I mean, literally... drain it, and fill it back up. You may need a low profile jack and some wrenchs/sockets...but takes maybe 30 mins.

Crooks! Changing a differential fluid is easier then an oil change, uses less oil.

Undo fill bolt first, then undo drain bolt and drain into a pan. make sure car is level and get a $5 hand pump from Walmart and a couple courts of Mobile 1 synthetic gear oil and you are done. 15 minute job. Gear oil and hand pump total cost is about $25

It's $300 here at the Toyota in Plano,TX. $600 for ALL fluid flush, fill, and oils change with "Toyota" additives. That's so call hooked up from a referral.

I did my transmission and differential drain and fill at the same time and it was about $125.
