So I'm in need of some direction. So I was driving one night and noticed that my driver side low beam was dead. So the next morning I had decided to swap bulbs to test. After swapping the bulbs, the same headlight was still not functioning. I'm not sure if the ballasts or something else. Any ideas?

Most likely the ballast. Bravo for swapping and testing first!
You will be able to find ballasts on Ebay. I recently ordered a set and they seem ok. I have not tried them yet, as I am too lazy to drop my bumper.

thats how I feel about taking apart the bumper and headlight. At first it was flickering when I went over bumpy roads then intermittently would not come on eventually it just went dead. So I feared it be the ballast.. 😢

If you did the swap, and you had the same results, it's likely the ballast. Shouldn't take too long to replace, and Amazon has them cheap. Could always go with two new bulbs to see if it helps, and worst case scenario, you replace the ballast with two new bulbs
Good luck.

Also, did anyone else look this picture and think that was the tail of a lizard sticking out of the ballast at first?

After putting everything back together and driving it. I realized that I forgot the fog light cables 😑

Could also be that a capacitor in the ballast blew or leaked, and that residue is the electrolyte.
