Obd ii codes p0430 cat bank 2
Any idea's? I know it has to do with the CAT or O2 sensor. I've heard people change out their gas cap and things ended up fine (which seems pretty weird to me how that would work)

I would recommend this bottle first. MAF sensor cleaner, average cost about $9.00 at any auto part stores. Disconnect the negative battery, disconnect the MAF sensor plug, unscrew 2 MAF sensor Philip screws, pull it off from the intake manifold and spay the elements a few times, wait for it dry and put it back together. Reconnect the battery and start the car, you can try the gas cap if this doesn't work. But I am sure this method worked out for me before. Hope this helps.
Oh, and make sure you have a clean air filter too ...

I don't know how and why more people don't buy the mini-VCI cable from e-bay. You should be able to tell if the problem is on the air intake or exhaust side reasonably fast. It can be a bunch of things, all individually no big deal (except for the actual cat)
- blocked, clogged, dirty or malfunctioning MAF sensor
- blocked clogged, dirty of malfunctioning O2 sensor
- vacuum leak
- exhaust leak
- If you abused your car (drove it while it was misfiring, or put some really bad gas in there, or had ethanol diluted gas in the tank for an extended duration of time without driving), it may in fact actually be a bad Cat... that one is expensive, catalytic converters always are, but you would have had all sorts of other codes prior to this if any of these things happened
The car does like to light up like a Christmas tree anytime a MIL codes on, it is super annoying that some consequential codes (inducing the one you have) will take out major car features like stability control. Gas cap it certainly is not, the gas cap code isP0442 /EVAP system leak (small) near tank, but yes, that too causes check VSC and a ton of lights.
Also, last year my battery was bad, the dash would randomly light up DTCs all sort of ECUs... the traction control system threw one, the BEAN ecu complained it cant find the engine ECU, the TMPS light was just on with no DTCs in that ECU....all on different days and times throughout the year. so another option is check the battery and make sure random codes aren't just showing up like was the case with me.

I put 93 octane most of the time. I still do have a recall tho to do, which is the most recent one. I'm ganna try and clean the MAF sensor first, Someone suggest the gas cap one and suggest that if it didn't hiss (which i never noticed that sound before) then its bad.
I never smelled rotten eggs from my car.... maybe once but that was when i had a leak in the exhaust. I've personally seen these lights before when I was doing with the air filter or removed the battery, except it threw 2 codes that time. Probably restart the car again. this is like the 3rd time i restart the car this year... I wonder if its bad for it to keep relearning stuff.

Hmmm, so its probably my O2 censor? whats funny is that the lights went away after driving it for a few days. I'm planning it clean the MAF sensor. can i just use QD electronics cleaner or should use the MAF sensor cleaner?
