Default 2006 lexus gs300 engine light on

Please I need some help on how to handle my 2006 lexus gs300 . The engine light came on with check vsc and abs light and show its slippery. First I took it to autozone and they said I should change the o2 sensor which I did and all the light went off and came up like 3 hours after

First, welcome to CL!

Yeah that sounds like bad advice, I don't think a faulty O2 sensor can cause VSC/ABS issues since their functions are completely separate. As for the lights going off for a few hours after the O2 sensor replacement, the battery was probably disconnected during the job, and that will clear the error codes – then presumably whatever fault triggered the code the first time caused the lights to come on again

You'll probably need to give us a bit more info. Firstly, did anything notable happen right before the lights came on (for example: oil change, major service, tire replacement, collision, etc.)? Secondly, how did autozone conclude that you needed a new O2 sensor? Also, did they pull any codes – if so, could you post the codes here?

Probably got p0420, p0430 codes. Auto zone should not be giving you advice on what to replace. Are they going to pay for the o2 sensors now that they misdiagnosed

I could be an O2 sensor, but potentially the wrong one. Try getting the exact code from them.

Sounds to me like carbon buildup issue!

I just had this same issue happen to me today. I left the radio on while i was cleaning out and vacuuming the car. I went to start the car to leave and the battery was dead. I got a jump from a nice gentleman, but now i have these same lights on after turning the car off and turning it back on. Mine is an 07 gs350.
