I just changed both fuel pump gaskets in my 460 and it's basically the same setup. I let the car sit overnight then removed the gas cap and waited an hour to relieve whatever pressure was left. Your going to need 2 wrenches to get the damper off. I believe 19 and 21/22. The bottom but you hold on place and you turn the top one. Mine were on there tight and I stopped the first time because it felt like I was going to break something. You just have to get the right leverage. Other than that it was a really easy job. When putting it back itn you have to alternate sides when tightening it down.

If you've done a water pump or brake job before, valve cover gasket should be no problem. It'll definitely be no problem if you get the repair manual
The torque specs for the Camry and 2GS valve covers were around 80 inch/pounds, so it's probably not much more than that. Are you replacing gaskets on a GS350?
