Purchasing a GS430
Hi, I'm new to CL and will be purchasing a GS430, but before I do.. is there any common problems I should be concerned about on this model? exterior/interior, suspension, engine/transmission, etc..??
It's a 2006 with 141,000 miles.

My 2006 GS430 has 135k miles and is running strong. Make sure the timing belt and water pump were changed. Also, as crazy as this sounds, I've had two door hinges fail, so make sure the doors open and close without resistance. Other than that, newer brakes and tires would be nice. Great car and congrats.

Get tranny flush, differential fluid change and plugs. Along with what e-man said. Prior receipts go a long way to give u an idea how well the vehicle was take care of. Oh, and just so u know, the inside of the cabin creaks like a SOB.

I just looked up the service history for this one if it's the one in Burbank and it's been maintained extremely well. All dealer service and doesn't look like it's missed a service ever. Had timing belt done back in 2013 at 90k and transmission flush in 2014. Bought new at Jim Falk in Beverly Hills, so it's a So Cal car. Some of the service history mentions Lexus Extra Care, which means it was under their extended warranty, so everything that had issues was replaced. I'd say go for it.

Congrats! Also, make sure all the body panels have the Lexus VIN sticker. They will be on all the doors, both front fenders (they are buried under the molding along where the hood closes), the hood, trunk and rear fenders (both the trunk and rear fender stickers are buried under the trunk liner, but you can see them by pulling it back a bit).

All of the above covered it. 119k, I don't beat on my car but it's been sitting on bags for the past 30k+ mi and I haven't had an issue on the car at all. (90% stock parts on the car). If you take care of the engine (timing belt water pump rear diff fluid trans fluid spark plugs etc. etc.) It should take care of you.
This engine's been on the Lexus line-up for years, so expect to get tired of your car before it wants to give up on you

Definitely the GS460 over the GS430. Keep in mind though both have expensive adjustable shocks but I believe you can swap them out for regular without any warning codes popping up. I'd keep GS350 as an option also. More of them available and you probably can get the color combo you want with lower mileage.

The 4.6 in the GS460 is a bit different that the LS460. It's obviously the same platform, but the GS460 produces 342HP and the LS460 has 380HP. I'd honestly stick with the 430 for the price. Save the difference in money for any repairs that pop up.

Congrats. I just purchased my baby about a month ago. An 06 430. Only issues that I have is that the code for tire is on, and I went to a tire store and the tires are at the proper psi, however the is still on. Oh and my tail light is out. NOT COMPLAINING! She is my canvas.
