Thinking of GS350, Some questions
I'm thinking of picking up a GS350 or a IS350. I already have a RX350 and they share the same engine so that's nice.
I drove the IS350 and it has some power, more than I'm used to anyway, and I plan on driving the GS350 very soon.
My question is does this car suffer from the VVTI Oil Cooler line issue and Oil Cooler line issue for the oil cooler like the RX models? I'm looking at possibly getting the AWD and I wanted to be prepared to replace those parts with full metal. Also any other issues to look out for? I know the waterpump is a weak point for these engines but with the GS350 it seems like it's pretty easy to do with plenty of space, so I'm not to worried about that.
Thanks for the help.

The RX350 uses the same engine as the ES350/Camry, which is the 2GR-FE.
The IS350 / GS350 uses the same engine family (3.5L V6) but with direct injection and oriented longitudinally, 2GR-FSE. It makes more power but requires premium fuel and doesn't get as good fuel economy.
The IS350 has a very small interior in my opinion. The GS350 is a bit more roomy, but honestly is still cramped inside for a midsized sedan.
The IS is geared a bit toward more sporty driving dynamics, while the GS is tuned toward a more luxurious ride.
With either RWD or AWD, make sure the transmission fluid has been changed. On the test drive, listen for squeaks and rattles, which is common with the 3GS. Also check that the transmission shifts smoothly and doesn't slip or skip in both normal, sport and snow modes.

You pretty much nailed it all around.
I did go out and drive the GS. Yes its bigger, but it doesn't feel that much bigger unless you are in the back. The low ceiling does make me a bit claustrophobic. IS is hands down quicker and during the test drive I was a bit hesitant with it. GS was comfy, but still surprisingly a bit cramped. I was expecting more room. Either way, with the GS I will definitely get the GPS, I can't imagine not having a back up camera for that car and parking sensors even better. I'm still debating on the IS or GS but there are more GS avaiable in my area.
Thanks for your input!
