2011 GS350 still a good buy?
I'm looking for something under $20K to DD when I move to San Antonio. I've read mixed reviews on the GS. Some people say the panels rattle. Some have problems with the electronics. I need something comfortable, reliable and well-built. I'd prefer something that handles decently, has a decent sound system and can get out of its own way. Would a 2011 GS350 be a good buy? I was looking at one that is a one-owner with about 80K miles. It does not have the ML sound system.

I have 2010 Lexus GS and I can chime regards to your concern. First, yes the panels rattle. This is my second 3rd generation Lexus GS and both GS's panel rattle. There are remedies for such which you can find them on this forum. I personally never encountered any electronic problems with both of my GS. However, one of my GS had the AFS issue where the dealership replaced the headlamps. I purchased my second GS based on the comfort and reliability of a Lexus. Like any other car, proper preventive as well as maintenance is essential regards to longevity of the car. Lastly, ML system. My first GS had the ML system however my 2010 does not. Although I loved the ML system, the stock audio system is decent and the bluetooth audio plays beautifully. I would HIGHLY recommend taking the GS to an independent service or a dealership for an inspection, only if you are buying the car from a private seller. Regardless of your decision, Lexus GS or Lexus in generally are amazing cars. Hope this helps and best wishes.

My 2007 seems to be trouble free so far. It has one rattle from the top right of the radio when its cold.
If handling is not as important as reliability, consider the Lexus ES350. It has decent power and comfort but slightly better reliability and cheaper maintenance due to its Camry lineage.
