today i notice, 2007 lexus gs350, my trunk wont open with remote or with the switch on dash,

i can only open with the metal key from keyfob...

i chked the fuse and disconnect battery for one min , still no result. my valet switch is good too


when i close the trunk t close automatically, as it supposed to do,

is the trunk some how went to valet mode? or some thing !!!

look in your glove box there is a switch on the left side of it to lock out the trunk. Make sure the switch is OFF

 

It could also be broken wires in the harness.

 

Hey I'm having the same problem. Did you figure it out?

 

There is Tail gate Module that is hanged up, if you take the battery out, it won't help, you need to plug in a scanner or obd II , and reset the body controller for tail gate, then the trunk will release, I hope this will help everyone, if you scan for codes, depends on the scanner ,

 

I experienced the same issue on my 07 GS 350.

FIXED: reset the battery for 2-3 minutes which also reset the vehicle ECU. I noticed when my trunk wasn’t working during closing the hydraulic was gone. After ECU reset, it started the hydraulic motion.
