If I didn't get the deal that i got on my 350 which I love (under $13K), I would have gone 460. However, I have a 6.2L V8 that i drive on the weekends so if I need torque, I pull that beast out.

I have a 350. Same issue as OP, I would have had to drive 1000 miles to get a 460 -- apparently Lexus only sells them in certain parts of the country. I'm perfectly happy with the 350. It has serious giddyup, certainly enough for a luxo cruiser.

I had the chance to drive a 460 a few weeks ago. I must say the only difference I find is the torque but at full throttle It's really hard to feel a notice of the extra hp. No wonder why Lexus decided to cut the 460 after the 2011 model year. If you want a V8, go with the ISF or the new GSF. Oh and the 460 almost drives like an LS with that air suspension.

My recently purchased 2007 GS460 transmission plays up when starting on steep hills. I notice it especially on down hill parking when selecting reverse. I don't know if this is normal or if it a fluid level problem or if all Lexus's do this? I just love playing the fuel saving game. Cruising at 60-65 mph and feathering the gas peddle my best so far is 34mpg. Not bad for a V8. I too tested the 350 and found the GS460 a far better drive. Test the IS as well but found them quite rough riding. I just love my 460. Overtaking is a breeze. In fact everything id a breeze. The only thing that brasses me of however is that setting the navigation system is that the vehicle has to be stopped. The navigation system is also quite complicated. It is like they tried to put every feature that they could think of in it.

I’ve owned 2 3GS 350, 4GS Fsport and now a GS460. Everyone is correct the driving experience because of smoothness of the v8, sound, and torque is superior to the GS350. Like you I love the design of the 3GS and seat positioning that’s why I ended up picking up a GS460 in the end.

The newer technology is nice, I don’t use the nav, nowadays I think most people use their phones and there are aftermarket options for Bluetooth streaming. Good luck with your search.

Driven a 350, have a 460 now. Without a doubt I’ll get a new gen IS (2013-15) after this
