GS350 water pump and other 100k service items?
Hi guys - new member here with a 2008 GS350.
i have read a few horror stories about water pump failures on these cars, but am looking for some reassurance on whether I should replace as preventative maintenance or keep an eye out for leaks and funny noise before doing anything.
The car just turned 100k miles, I have owned it since 60k. Car is very well maintained and I do not see any leaks or crusty coolant around the WP. Would appreciate some friendly advice and if there is anything else specific I should do at 100k, please let me know!
Thanks

I would replace the water pump and starter before it gives out. It will be less of a headache than being stuck somewhere on the side of the road. They both will go out so why not get them changed before they do. I wish i had did them before they went out on my car.

Do it now. My GS350 had 150k when I brought it in, no leaks. Cheap insurance. I'm handy but opted to pay the dealer for it, and they charged me about $450 including the part.

I have an '08 GS350 as well, and while my water pump was replaced a couple of years ago by the previous owner, I would highly recommend that you replace yours as others have stated.
As for the 100,000 mile scheduled maintenance, my dealership performed an oil and filter change, tire rotation, engine coolant flush, and general inspection.

A month ago I had the timing belt, water pump and serpentine belt and all the coolant replaced at 36K miles on my 2006 LS 430... Probably did not need it but I just decided to do it...

at 100k you should expect to replace water pump, alternator
at 120k you should replace the spark plugs
i would recommend changing the valve gasket and spark plug seals (big job) on those intervals as it will help with reducing the amount of oil loss
if you live in a snowy place, expect to replace the exhaust pipe and the muffler
also at this interval you might need to replace the headlight ballast
