2006 gs300 awd oil consumption
I purchased my lexus used, it had about 160000 miles on it. I've had it about a year, and it now has 169000 miles on it. I have had to have the oil changed 3 times already due to the low oil level light coming on, and then the engine oil level being so low it barely registered on the dipstick. I finally got ahold of the service records for this car, and in the service records it shows where it was actually doing this same thing about 30000 miles ago and it was at the lexus dealer for the oil consumption analysis. Within 400 miles the tech at a lexus dealership discovered that the oil level was low, but the tsb for the valve train was never done. Does anybody know if lexus will still do this at their expense since it was reported and nothing was done about it?

You can call a Lexus dealership with your VIN and they'll tell you if all of the recalls were performed.
Oil consumption is a known problem with that model. I check my oil weekly and have it changed at 3000 mile intervals.
I use Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic Blend for high mileage vehicles.

Guys,
whenever I shutdown my engine and check the oil level it shows between the two dots, but when I check it after 10 minutes and the next day it shows low, below the first dot. I am afraid to add more oil then start up the car and the oil will be beyond the second dot?
why does the oil level shows perfect within 15-45 seconds after shutting down the engine and gives a low reading anytime after that?
no leaks and not burning oil, and it drives as smooth as a brand new

Not sure if you got your answer, but the reason it looks higher at 15-45 seconds after shutting off the engine is because the oil has not had time to drain back down into the oil pan where the dipstick is used to check the level. When the engine is running the oil pump pulls oil out of the oil pan to the upper parts of the engine that need lubrication, plus the oil gets tossed around by all of the moving parts and up onto the dipstick. The oil on the dipstick rather slowly goes back down along it and into the bottom of the engine in the oil pan. Once the oil has gone back down into the oil pan you can check the actual oil level. This is why you need to wait to check your oil level instead of doing so right after you shut off the vehicle.

So, the oil consumption issue with my 2008 LS is getting worse, now going through 2qts every 850 miles. No smoke, smells, no leaks on ground. I do hear pops when I turn off the car, not sure if this is oil leaking somewhere in the engine around a seal, doubt it, but not sure.
Any ideas, again, why my car is drinking oil like water and there are no leaks anywhere on the ground ?

This is the GS section, the LS guys maybe able to help better help you out. But if your not seeing any burning, maybe the burning is happened when the car is hot and under throttle. Try this with the car hot, have someone rev the engine and you look at the rear exhaust pipes. If you see a lot of smoke then theres your issue.
Have you replace the pcv valve? If not try that!
