Default High beam LED

Hello,

I was searching here and I see that all threads regarding this but all of them are ancient and LED tech has come a long way in the last 4 to 5 years. My question is, has anyone installed new LEDs that claim to be DRL/High beam capable and don't flicker.
Like these ones explained here: https://www.google.com.do/amp/www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Convert-High-Beam-DRL-to-LED-Lights/%3Famp_page

Thank you

When i swapped LEDs for high beams/DRL ~2 years ago they still flickered. It'll be random.. some days it did, other days it didn't (flicker).

Just a FYI, I don't think those bulbs linked in that article will be useful as high beams. It'll look good but you'll lose your high beam function.

I used these:

I did but still flickered. Had to buy a led decoder for it to stop the flickering. Motherflicker!

Installed some from ebay. No flicker but pointless as Highbeams. Only look good for DRL

I did the same. Super bright for DRL. Not good enough for Highbeams

I had a regular set of LED's and the output for high beams was terrible, I contacted them and they recommended these, much better. I should have the flicker fix any day now.

While these look great, they're a bit too bright for DRLs. And losing your highbeam functionality is a no go for me because of annual state inspection tags.

I recently ordered a set of Simdevanma bulbs from amazon and they work phenomenally.

They're not brighter than my HIDs (high beams), but they're a VERY VERY close second to it. When I say close second, I'd say you can still light up the road, and annoy the people in front of you.

I also had a set replace my cousin's accord's low beams and they're A LOT LOT brighter than his OEM halogens.

They were also on sale at the time (for $35 w/ a coupon code.... I think it's still active so our members can google it,as I don't want to advertise the product).

I had my DRLs deactivated from the dealer, so my result may vary.

I just install the LED bulbs in the DRL/High Beam lights. They do flicker. I installed the decoder but it forces the LED to stay on high beam while in DRL mode, then it blew the high beam fuse if I try to flash someone (with the decoder install.)

I purchase a kit from DDMTuning; ddmtuning.com/Products/Saber-LED-9005-36W-PR-W. They are extremely bright when you flash someone.

They do look too bright for DRL that pic was low light. Here a more accurate picture

okay, now this looks perfect as DRLs. Can you provide more info on the bulbs you used? Are you happy with the performance overall?

I'm very happy with how the DRL looks. High beam isn't great but you notice a change when on. I got them a couple years ago from EBay. They are cree xbd, I believe there are 10 LEDs per bulb. Also using decoders

I'd like to also give a follow up on the bulb brand that i provided (the Simdevanma bulbs).

They also work in low voltage applications (yes, they're dimmable).

The same accord (my little cousin's) that i installed the low beams on, I figured I'd install high beams for him also.

On low voltage it's dimmed, and higher voltage (high beam mode) it's brightened also. Just in case anyone was looking for dimmable applications for their DRL'd system (I have my DRL deactivated).
