Automatic Transmission Fluid Change?
Hi everyone,
I have browsed several threads here to make sure I get as close to the solution as possible.. but just wanted one final assurance that I'm heading in the right direction.
There is a clunking issue when my car downshifts upon light deceleration and also on up-shifts when lightly accelerating. It almost always happens when I'm slowly coming to a halt, and when I'm slowly accelerating.
The clunking also feels like a slight slipping of the clutch, only slight. But it's noticeable and audible.
My transmission fluid was replaced at 50k miles. I currently have 87k miles on my car.
Should I go ahead with this and see what happens, or should I look into it further? If so, what could be the other causes for this?
Thank You in advance guys.

My transmission sometimes thunks when downshifting as I'm slowing down. Its almost predictable, but I've accepted it as the way it behaves.
You can change the tranny fluid yourself, I did a short video on that here for the GS:

Update:
It's not the transmission. I even drove the car in Manual mode and kept it on 4th gear... the thump/clunk still happened.
I can feel it under my feet.
Meanwhile, while all this was happening... my ABS pump gave in. This is the 2nd time I replace it. 1st time was warranty.. this time it's gonna hit me hard. retail price on those are just under $ 3K. I'm trying to source one as we speak.
I don't know if the two issues are related, but my mechanic is working on it.
Here's a video of the Brake Failure issue.

Update
Replaced the ABS pump... the clunking is gone as well. Seems like once the pump gives up, the fluid pressure is all over the place and all sorts of stuff kick in while you're driving. Could have been the brakes kicking in while driving for a split second.. or even traction control.. throttle cut off.. all sorts of stuff.
Anyways... I got lucky this time. I managed to locate my previous pump which was replaced under warranty.. but dealer for some reason gave it to me. I stored it for 3 years and it came to my rescue today.
Pump is still noisy... might give in any day... but that's a "maybe". Atleast it works and I have no issues.
