Default Is this mystery red button under the driver dash a factory thing?

As per the photo below. When I remove the dash undertray, this is the only thing that I can't easily remove, it's not clipped in, I think it was screwed in and *then* connected.

That button ia not OEM, where is the cable from the button routed to? Looks like a passenger ejection system from James Bond..

If it helps my wife's corolla have a button to disable the alarm security system for valet, but I dont think anyone will have the guts to install an aftermarket security alarm system to a Lexus GS...

This certainly looks to be some sort of bypass switch. I had one back when I had a Mercury Grand Marquis, and it was used to disable the auxiliary alarm system installed in the vehicle. Even it does have an aftermarket alarm, the installation appears clean (one can hope the rest of it is the same way, too).

It is probably connected to his reverse camera. Just kidding. yeah thats aftermarket, it seems like your car has alot of aftermarket stuff added to your vehicle.
