Hello fello Lexus Owners! Can anyone answer this question for me? I have a 2006 GS430. Can I upgrade my Navigation to a 2007 with screen and computer? What can be done to upgrade it to a High Definition.

I just got an 06 GS300. I'm also interested in this. I'll be taking my car to the dealer probably next weekend. I'll try to update if they can give me an answer.

Dumb question: what are the differences exactly between the 2006 and 2007+ navi systems?

Also, is it just me or even modern Lexus navigation systems seem absolutely ancient in terms of graphics and usability?

The 2007-2011 has the Gen 5 System. The 2006 has the Gen 4. The Gen 5 has a cleaner look. It also looks like the pixel count is a lot higher than the gen4 system.

Personally, I think the Navigation system graphics and usability is behind everyone else. I was riding in my friend's Yukon Denali and in a MB C300. Way better graphics and it's really fluid when it's tracking your position on the map. Not sure about usability. I get frustrating just navigating the Lexus' nav menu.

Good thing I'm not the only one thinking that. A bit OT, but I rented a Renault Megane 205GT while I was in Europe for holidays and the navi was superb. Mind you, we're talking about a car that's equivalent to a golf. Lexus seriously needs to update their navigation systems.
