Default RPM falls when lights are switched off!
Lexus GS460

Recently, I've noticed that my RPM when in D (Drive) is below normal. It's at around 400. When in N (Neutral)... it's normal at 600 or 700.

However, when in D, if I switch on the lights, the RPM goes up to 600/700 which is usually the norm.

Any ideas what's happening?

May be a dirty throttle body valve. also clean out the maf sensor while your in there

Throttle body, sparkplugs (if you havent replaced them already), top engine cleaning, dirty air filter. All of these can drop your rpms

Update:

Throttle body cleaned. PERFECT!

I also told them to go ahead and change engine mounts while at it.
Can't believe how smooth the car is now!
