Updated Tire Recommendations 2008 GS350

I don't know about these tires but I did a long research on this topic as I wanted to get new ones myself and the winner with a combination of thread life, quietness, quality, handling is by far 'Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus Tires'. yesterday by accident i ran across a thread about it here and they all swear by it.

I had the Ecsta LX Platinum tires on our ES300 a couple years ago, I loved them and will probably put them on my GS430 when the time comes. I wore out three sets of Kumhos on the ES. I highly recommend them.

I've had my Pure Contacts for a long time (Continental) I HIGHLY recommend them.
I believe they were slapped on at 90k miles, then ran until 100k and taken off (since I had 20s), then put back on at 110k, I'm at 120k right now and they're still beefy like they're brand new.
I've tried a lot of brands and so far Michelin and Continental stand up to their name in good quality when it came to their budget line of tires.

I bought a set of General G-MAX AS-05s. The successor to the popular AS-03. 5k miles on em with no issues.
AS-05 uses an asymmetric pattern and IMO is a budget DWS (General is owned by Continental). It's a relatively new tire but is well reviewed by TireRack and its customers.

I've put close to 28k miles on a set of Continental Pure Contact's....and I really like them. They are holding up very well. I took off a worn set of Michelin Pilot Sport 3 (I believe) that lasted only about 38k. These Pure Contact's are a 70k mile rated tire, but give up SOME performance characteristics. The Pure Contacts are considered a "touring tire". I'm on the highway a lot and drive about 30K miles a year and was wanting a bit more forgiving ride (the Michelin's rode very stiff), longer tread life and I wanted them to "look cool"....and these really fit the bill. Plus, they are very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Personally, speed rating is "over-rated". No one in their right mind will have these cars over 110mph for more than a few seconds anyway. Ride quality, road noise, tread life, cost, wet/dry/snow traction, looks, and reliability are far more practical characteristics to consider.
