Of course, safety gloves for high voltage first.
And this battery pack is damn heavy.

Nice! Glad you figured out the problem. Would be great for our members who have the same problem.

It would be a great idea to put on some anti-corrosive/anti-oxidizing conductive grease (be careful to clean the grease if it seeps out from the connectors though, as it IS still conductive).

It would also help with power transfer, as when you sanded it, it was a high-grit paper and you lose some surface area.

Yes, dielectric grease. It would definitely keep them from oxidizing/corroding again in the future. Very impressive repair. I don't know if I would try to tackle something like that without seeing your DIY post. Really not that intimidating at all. Great job!
