It could be a number of things. Bad tires or wheel bearing going out.

I vote wheel bearings. The humming generally starts around 30mph and up. Have your technician test drive your car and he/she will know right away. Not sure how much the fix costs.

Run your hands across the tread of the rear tires feeling the thread. If theres feathering/uneven lifting on the tires, then they are bad and you either have a bad bushing or just bad alignment.
If the tires are good and flat! Drive the car and focus where the humming sound is coming from. Next swerve the car from left to right, if the humming goes away when the car is leaning to any side then thats probably a bad wheel bearing.

How i diagnose bad wheel bearings is to jack the car up (one side at a time) and i wobble the wheels back and forth (still secured to the car)
if there is play, bad wheel bearing. That has worked on my previous cars, im not sure if that will work on our vehicles.
