Default Brake Pads

Hi Guys

I have 2008 Gs460 with 113K.

My brake pads wears so fast in less than a year and i am using it at weekend only.

I replaced the rotors + pads from Powerstop and it is the same.

I hear the buzzing sound coming from the ABS module and i dont know if there any realtion.

Buzzing sound from the ABS sounds like it is going bad. A mechanic once told me once you hear your abs pump buzzing its best to replace it before it burns out destroying the pump and the abs module. But this was regarding an LS460 which I believe uses a system near identical to the GS460.

As far as brake pad wear, one years use of street driving shouldnt kill your pads. Maybe the pads you used were race spec pads? Race pads do not last long, why not replace them with OEM pads.

My '08 460 has the constant buzzing sound from the actuator ever since I can remember (got it with 16k, now it has 56k. I've had Lexus techs at 3 different dealerships check it out, all of which say everything is fine. Still best to have it looked at, however.

My 08 GS460 also makes the constant buzzing sound since I got two years ago.....glad to hear I'm not the only one. I use Akebono brake pads and they are holding up ok. Can anyone confirm if the the LS460 and GS460 use the exact same ABS actuator?

Eventually, this is what's gonna happen if you don't change your ABS pump. I changed mine twice.
The GS460 is known for these two problems:

1. ABS pump is weak
2. Brakes are weak.

Have a good mechanic check your pump to confirm and then install good rotors with Akebono brake pads...

Have you heard of anyone taking apart their abs pump and seeing what exactly is the main issue with these pumps going out? If its simply the electrical motor portion they do sell aftermarket motors that replace oem.

I have not come across anyone locally that can do that. However, I am convinced there are people out there that do and sell them online for a good profit. If you check out ebay, you will see many "refurbished" pumps on sale.

In fact, I have my old pump and I'm gonna find someone to give it a shot. It's just a pump. I am sure it can be repaired.

Thats a good idea to have as a spare incase of emergency, maybe in salmbad area you can find an electrician. Whatever you find burnt out, let us know im curious what makes these pumps go out.
