Smile what to look at when buying a GS

hi guys

I am planning to buy a GS from 2005-2011 and want to know what is the most reliable model to consider.
I know the 300 has a carbon build up problem so I don't think that I will go for that model.

what is your suggestion about this car?
what is the most common problems with the GS from that era?

thank you

From what I found, all GS350 from 2007-2011 have same reliability, Most common problems are water pump leak (needs replacement every 70K-100K miles). headlights ballast also needs replacement after around 8-10 years. Make sure that the GS you are buying doesnt burn lots of oil, you can check this by checking the oil sticker remaining millage then check the oil level on the dip stick to see how much oil was burned (unless the seller keeps topping it off). other than that you got nothing to worry about, just normal wear and tear.

The 2010-2011s have upgraded/better Nav/Bluetooth capability.

Reliability wise in would probably say the GS430 and GS460 are the most reliable as they don't have any oil burning issues, but that seems to only affect some 350 owners. 350 is still a very reliable car

It’s a pretty reliable vehicle with any amount of mileage. I’d just echo what others have stated.

- avoid the 300 if possible and go for the 350. (because more power)
- dash rattles. (there are supposedly kits available to quiet the dash).
- ballast module for HID headlights may need replacing. (Buy them e bay or amazon)
