I started to notice this crunching/crackling noise when I press on the brake pedal. The sound is the same regardless if I'm in park or driving and pressing the brakes to a stop. I just replaced my F and R brakes, and I checked for the sound and it was not coming from any corner, it's in the middle if you're sitting inside and the sound is coming from underneath the car. I just had my tranny fluid change (no flush) a few months ago too.

I had my dad check the noise throughout the car and it was underneath near the front. No noises from al brakes. Car runs fine, no issue but the noise got me curious. Could it be the flexplate?

Since you said it is not coming from the 4 corners, I would be inspecting the linkage between the brake pedal and the master cylinder.

I would tear apart the front brakes and inspect everything, its possible you have a loose caliper bolt. It doesnt take long to disassemble the front brakes. I would also grease behind the pads, the slider pins, the pad tracks etc to make sure everything is operating smoothly.

We opened the hood as well and with the engine off, the clicking/grinding/crackling noise does not come from the master cylinder. I'm gonna try and hook up my action cam and record the noise and let you guys hear it.

You could be right, if I remember correctly he has a hybrid. The brake actuator problems are on the gs460, 430, 450H, LS460. The 350's do not have these issues as its a totally different braking system.
On our 2010 LS460 even after replacing both the actuator and module, we would hear a crunching noise coming out of the engine bay.
