Default Heater only gets hot on max hit setting.

Anyone else experience an issue with the heater where it will only get hot when the temperature is at max hot? Yet you drop it to 85° and it turns into a/c. Thanks for any and all help.

This sounds like your heater core is on its way out.

There was a thread not long ago about the same issue, it ended up being a clogged heater core. A quick reverse flush with a high pressure water hose and a mild solution to help it further.

No I had to find out from a service advisor that the whole time i own my vehicle i wasn’t properly using the climate control. On the touch screen the A/C button was active (yellow). after that was pressed. Now I have an abundance of warm inductive heating. Also no i don’t use as much gas. Had the a/c running which is why it was cold. also always used the auto control. since then i only use manual controls for climate. Thanks for the reply and happy new year,

The "a/c" automatically goes on or off depending on the humidity. My a/c runs year round in Chicago, blowing cold or hot air, except on those cold dry days in the winter. You might have something else going on here.
