Fancy a supercharger for your GS350
First ever s/c kit ive seen for a GS350, they claim 389hp and on sale for $6,300.00

I mean.... It's neat and all, but $6,300 for roughly an 86 hp gain? I'd rather put that money toward a track beater. But hey, if you've got the cash to burn, why the heck not?

Definitely not worth the price for the minimal performance gain. If they offered a higher HP option, it would require very costly upgrades to the rest of the drivetrain in order to handle the extra power. There is no inexpensive way to mod a Gen3 that I have seen.

it's just that bolt on turn key stuff is always super expensive.
there is always a way to mod on a budget. im planning to do a big brake kit on the cheap just need to find a nice set of used calipers and pay a shop to make adapters. Beats paying 4-8 grand for a big brake kit.
and the gs is fast enough to dominate all the plebians on the road.

Is that dyno sheet at the wheel or at the crank?
3GS dynos at the wheel are something like 260 whp (may be others I don't recall seeing / didn't search up)

If at the wheel, that's a pretty impressive ~125+ hp improvement. If I owned one, would consider it.

Also I’m not so sure that article is valid any longer. Info is based on an 07 with 22,000 mi?; putting that much boost on a motor and drivetrain with 100,000 + is not going to have a lifespan of maybe a month if you'd use it like it was purpose built for.
Great idea, just going to cost a pant load to make it keep running. Not cost effective but fun.

Anything is plausible. 400? Read the fine print. 93 octane, headers. Shop says they flash the ECU? I wouldn’t unless you’re backing it up on dyno. Too many variables

GS has a very strong aisin transmission, its the same as the V8 tundra and there are guys supercharging those tundras with no issues. From the factory toyota actually made an oem supercharger on the same engine in the rare mark X
Sure dumping 6-8grand on a 3gs doesnt make financial sense

It has also been swapped in 3GS's with manual gear aswell. But with this kit, you can keep AWD and 400hp, with possible 500hp

GR>JZ for daily. but jz is more reliable for sure.
there is a guy who 2jz swapped and kept it awd but making all those custom parts seems like a chore... if I had a warm garage I'd definitely attemp something like this.

Considering how much upside the 2JZ has and its affordability, I'm surprised we dont see this swap more often? Realistically speaking, how complicated is it to effectively implement this swap? I'm sure the electronics will present a challenge. Is there a link somewhere detailing the swap?
Crappy thing about 2jz is the transmission options, the 2jz autos are garbage after 400hp, when you go manual gear the 6spd is strong but big bucks, limited to supra clutch discs. Then you have the r154 5spd its strong and can handle 500hp still moderately pricey, W158 can handle 350hp and very weak and very cheap. Lately guys have been running cd009 transmissions from 350z's (new $1,200 used $500) they can handle close to 1000hp.
Depends on how you want to swap it in, you can wire in the speedo to make it work. Or you can run your own tach, and all other acc's this is the easiest way. Then get a 3rd clutch pedal and mount it in to do the manual swap. It can be done in a week or two

I've also read a lot of guys going with the cd009 when doing the 2jz swap which as you mentioned is affordable. I've seen them for as low as $350 on craigslist. Did the SC300 come with the R154 or the W158? I suppose if you can source the clutch and 5speed manual from an SC300 and mate it to the 2JZ that would make sense as well as keep everything in the same family. I would prefer to wire the speedometer, as well as, keep all OEM functionality which is why I'm sure it will be a challenge as well as costly. The fact that not many guys are going this route leads me to believe it's an expensive swap.
