Trunk release/open question
Hi everyone, I'm new here, but have been following the forums from time to time, which have helped me A LOT with many DIY things, thanks for that.
So, to the point - I have a Lexus GS300 S190 '07(before the facelift). My question is this - does the trunk only pop open slightly(the mechanism releases it), or does it fully open when you press the button(any of the buttons)? Just curious, since the S160 seems to fully open from this clip:
Thanks in advance .

It pops slightly. The s190 use lift support shocks while the s160 use hinges and tension rods.

Same ^^. I recently replaced the shocks on the trunk and it opens a little aggressively when I lift it up. It jerks pretty hard on the woven metal strap that stops the lid. Curious if I can take the PSI down on the two shocks a little.

Thanks all for the answers. It really helped me
Yes, that is what I saw too, but I was thinking that, maybe, someone before me(the owner or the dealer) had done something to it and now it was not working as intended. Strange though, that the previous model had this, but the newer doesn't

The L10, 2013- up, went back to hinges and tension rod.
