Just bought this 2006 (12 yrs old) GS300. I've noticed that all the door sill (scuff plate) lights don't work. Yes, I have the "door" switch selected. I'm assuming the bulbs are burnt out. I've searched but can't find a DIY for replacing. Can anyone direct me?
Also, the Steering Wheel light doesn't work. Might be the small hole just in front of the sun visor.
Come to think of it, all 4 scuff lights don't work. Probably not bulbs. Is there a fuse or something that controls them? all other courtesy lights seem to be working.
The 2006 GS door sills do not light up unless someone adds it afterward. Do you have pictures of the door sills? If it's thin, no. If it's a thick looking piece, yes, it may light up. I have a 2006 myself.
Steering wheel light, as in the buttons on the steering wheel? The small hole on top only comes on in a certain condition. I think when the car is off and the driver door is open.
But, the owners manual says "Scuff Lights". That seems to indicate door sill scuff plates. They are stainless with translucent "LEXUS" letters. They look just like our 2007 RX350 scuff plates and they light up.
I'm confused as a termite in an yo-yo . . . .
I guess that's it. I guess it's not door sills either . . . . hum . . . . . no wonder they don't light up.
HA! Well . . . if all else fails . . . . read the instructions . . . .
