Sun Visor light - can a faulty switch be repaired?
2006 GS300
Drivers sun visor (vanity mirror) light switch is bad. The light only comes on if the mirror cover is slid back between 90%-95%. If it is opened all the way and the light won't come on, not enough and it won't come on, and sometimes you have to work the slide a little to get the light on.
Is there a way to repair it, or will I need to purchase a new visor?

Thanks. Your video was a big help. I successfully fixed the slide switch in about 10 minutes and did it without removing the visor. For others, the key was to slightly bend the small wire identified in the video so that it makes better contact when the mirror cover is slid open. It is only the loop section of the wire identified in the video that needs to be adjusted, and it needs to be adjusted by bending slightly so it protrudes into the gap you can see when you slide open the cover after removing the mirror. That is, bend the loop away from the back of the mirror. Only a small adjustment is necessary. If the wire pops out (mine did), it's simple to put it back in.

Hi. My Driver Side is not working. (06 Lexus gs300) I removed both the Driver/Passenger side mirror assemblies and examined them. The wires for each were 'jutting out' from the plastic slide exactly the same. I put the Driver Side into the Passenger Side and the light worked. However, when I put the Passenger Side into the Driver Side, the light STILL did not work?? Any thoughts? Thanks.
