Car Off, Speakers Popping - Loud, Kills Battery
2007 GS 350
As title says, with car completely off, speakers are popping, LOUDLY, and repeatedly. It keeps on doing this until the battery runs down.
I read that Mark Levinson amps were prone to doing this, but mine is not one of those, it's the factory amp, an OEM Toyota/Pioneer, Model # 86280-30520
I took the amp out to stop the popping. Aside from it being loud, I was worried it might actually blow the speakers
I saw that the Mark Levinson amps had a fix, but have found no such fix for the amp I have. I'm not even positive it is the amp, but it seems like it would be given what's happening. BTW, there is no water in trunk.
Anyone know anything about this problem and if it can be fixed without replacing the amp? I couldn't diagnose what the problem in the amp could be unless it was obvious, but if this is a known issue in the Lexus community and there are any fixes out there, I can certainly follow directions.
Any help would be appreciated.

My wife's Cayenne literally JUST started doing this. According to the Porsche forums, it's a pretty common issue with the Cayenne, and the best overall fix is just a replacement. Sounds like that might be the case here, unfortunately. Hopefully somebody else has some input.

look on you tube on how to preform a parasitic draw, by pulling fuses. Once you find the fuse thats sucking all the power see what that fuse controls. If it is the stock amp, you can take it to ecu repair shops and many charge you a flat rate. Or more likely cheaper to just replace, I would pull the part number and do an ebay search with it. non- mark levinson amps should be cheap as they do not go bad as often as the mark levinsons.

I think the amp may have gotten wet? Someone mentioned there is a rubber vent(?) for the trunk behind the wheel right near the amp where water can possibly get in. I felt nothing wet, the carpet, amp, nothing, but the trouble did start while my wife was on the highway while it was raining hard. I took the amp out of the trunk, brought it in the house and there it stayed for about a week. I eventually found time to take it apart and look inside. I don't have any testing equipment nor would I know what to do with it if I did. However, I can see anything obviously wrong. but everything looked and smelled ok. I put it back together, put it back in the car and the problem has not returned as of today.
