I've saved this thread. I just got a 2008 GS-350 and I won't be driving it every day. Of course, my wife will probably drive it when I don't.

Don't know about the other threads but the first few responses on this one were sure out to lunch.

I park my 2006 GS430 for the winter, on a lift every year and have for the 10 years I have owned it. I leave a Gemini 750 Milamp auto charge maintainer on it all winter.so it keeps the battery fully charged and well maintained. Even if I park the car for only a couple of weeks it will often not recognize the Fob when you first go to start it. Doors won't open etc with the Fob. Use the key to open door, get in and out of car, press black button on handle to lock door. Will usually recognize Fob after that. Only once have I had to start the car with the key to get it to recognise the FOBs from there on. Never tried the sequence you posted but will if it is stubborn recognising the FOB in the future.

I have an 09 GS350 AWD and I do the same. Stored from Nov-April here in WI. I use a CTEK maintainer. I experience some combination of the same issue with fob recognition when I pull it out in the spring, but it really hasn't been an issue. Like you said, once I open the door with the fob and start the car, it seems to clear itself up without any further intervention required. I too have saved that procedure for future reference if required.
