Hello,
I just got a used GS 350 2009 AWD model and the Lexus dealership promised a new all weather mat with the purchase. However, they just informed me that the 3rd Generation floor mat models were D/C so they told me they can get me the 4th generation ones. Now, would you guys know anything whether RWD or AWD version will fit better?

The 4th gen AWD mats fit, as do 2nd gen AWD IS mats. That being said, I have a set of black OEM all weather mats for an AWD 3rd gen GS.
