Dashmat - are there any senors on the dash?

Dashmat - are there any senors on the dash?
We got a dashmat for the dashboard of our 2008 GS-350. While test fitting it, I noticed a plastic ****, about a half inch in diameter, in the middle of the dash, just in front of the vents. Is this a sensor of some kind?

**** is actually in-between two of the dash vents. I looked at it through the windshield and it looks like a sensor. The dash mat has space open for it. Probably either a sensor for daylight or a sensor for rain.
