08 GS350--- Oil Pan Replacement at 82K?
Hi all. I have a 2008 GS350 with about 82K miles on it. I've had my oil changed at the same place for years now but on my most recent trip they claim the oil pan drain bolt kept turning and would not tighten. So without asking me they put a larger bolt in there and tightened with the correct torque specs. I had a very minor leak afterwards from the bolt... and this was fixed by just tightening the bolt a bit more.
Have any of you guys had to replace your oil pan? I feel like they're just BS'ing about wear/tear over the years.. my guess is one of their mechanics overtorqued the oil drain bolt this time around or previously..

You're not talking about the oil pan gasket. You're describing the oil pan drain bolt gasket. Those are two different things.
I agree with you that the person who tightened the drain bolt over tightened it and caused that problem to begin with. If it continues to leak, I would hold them responsible for whatever repair is necessary to fix it, including replacing the oil pan itself if necessary, since they stripped the drain bolt hole. You can explain to them that their technicians are the only persons that ever touched that drain bolt and produce your records to prove it. When tightened properly, that bolt/hole should last the lfe of the car.
