Default Replace Transmission and Ecu

Engine light been comming on. Mechanic said trans slipping. I'm funny thing I hadn't changed change the fluid. A process all I need to do but the dreaded truth came I needed to change my trans and ECU unit is 55 hundred all together. For my 07 gs350. 157000. I'll have to trade in. Anyone with similar issues?

There's probably nothing wrong with the transmission. It's probably a faulty ECU which is common. There are links on this board to a firm that you can send your ECU off to and they with repair it for less than $150. 150K mi. is nothing for a GS transmission.

Try changing the fluid and add a bottle of luca trans fix, give it a shot may buy you some time.

Dont need a trans flush, just drain the fluid, remove the pan, clean the magnets, change the filter. Over fill the transmission, if you have a techstream plug that in and it will tell you trans temp. Heat the engine until the proper trans temp is reach, open the dip stick drain tube to remove the excess fluid you powered in. As soon as it slows down to a trickle, put the plug back in.

Give it a shot and hopefully it holds up, if it doesnt you can also try adding lucas trans slip fluid and see if that will help but I wouldnt used that only for a last case effort.

Give it a shot! The trans is already slipping, so all you will be out is the cost of fluid and a filter.

Also the 07-up ecu's are pretty good and rarely go bad. Its only the 2006 300's that are known for that.
