Something missing from the rain sensor?

I recently bought a 2010 GS 450h with 72K miles. Very clean car. I noticed a very uncharacteristic visible wiring harness as I was driving today....I assume connecting to the windshield rain sensor.
anybody know what’s missing here?

Yep, it's just a black, rectangular box that covers that up.
