Just got new tires on the GS350. They are a huge improvement over the old ones, but still a bit noisy on the highway. I put the decibel meter on my phone and measured about 82 dB at 80 mph on the horrible freeway here. Anyone else have measurements? Are our cars just noisy?

I realized that closing the sunroof shade/cover reduces the noise substantially. If you just purchased it, the tires could be worn or of poor quality, which would make a lot of noise as well.

If it annoys you that much, pretty sure you can remove the fender liners, and put clean the backside of the fenders so you can stick on sound deadening strips on the fender. You can also stuff insulating inside the fenders. You can do the same for the hood, remove the hood inner liner, put sound deadening and put back on the fabric.

I think it's really quiet ride compared to a corolla which sounds like driving with windows open. Ofcourse it's not a rolls Royce. You can gut the interior and soundproof it really good

Using an actual dB meter, 2010 GS 460, radio off, sunshade open, 59dB @ 80mph on asphalt highway. Decibel app showed 68dB. Michelin AS3+.
